A new geometric design for the good old choco chip! Yay or Nay?

For 3 years, Tesla engineer Remy Labesque worked on a unique project launched by Dandelion Chocolate to redesign the 80-year-old chocolate chip. “The classic tear drop shape of the choco chips is ill-suited to its function. It’s only a product of industrial manufacturing processes,” he believes. Lasbeque’s redesign is a square, faceted pyramid, kind of like a flattened diamond. Two edges are thick and two are exceedingly thin to maximize taste and the melt-in-mouth texture. The design brief was simple - ‘to make the best chip for the experience of tasting chocolate’. Dandelion currently sells its “facets” in three distinct, 70% single-origin, types: from Ecuador, Costa Rica and Madagascar. Even when heated, the chocolate chips keep a recognisable shape and enviable texture. What do you think of the new artisanal shape?

There is actually a bit of work involved to make this, albeit the naan is a shop bought one which does save on the prep time. The paneer is cubed and marinaded in ginger, garlic, spices, mango chutney & tomato purée before being grilled. The yoghurt is made from caramelising onions and then whizzing them up with @thecollectiveuk yoghurt and mango chutney. The final and easiest part was to pickle some red onions and make the salad. Then it’s all piled on top of the warmed naan.
